Teacher for Children Birth to 5 years old

Interested in being part of a cross-cultural bridge-building child care program?

The South-East Asia Center’s (SEACs) Bridge International School is seeking a part-time, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. or 3:00 pm to 6 pm, ECE childcare teacher (Ages 0-5).

Job duties involve management of/or assistance as co-teacher with planning and implementation of small-group or whole-class educational activities.

Job requires attendance of training and staff meetings during orientation phase.

Teacher is responsible for maintaining classroom in an orderly fashion and in compliance with standards.

May be responsible for breakfast preparation as needed.

Must be willing to read, digest and implement and adhere to DFSS, ISBE, DCFS, ExceleRate Illinois, and SEAC standards.

A high level of professional responsibility and quality of work is expected.

Must be willing and able to work with infants to 3-year-olds.

Qualifications include BA degree in early childhood education/child development, or Gateways ECE Level 1, Infant Toddler Level 1 and effective classroom management skills.

Candidates with 60 semester hours (or 90 quarter hours) of credit from an accredited college or university with 6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) related to school-age child care, child development, from birth to age 6, with no experience, will also be considered.

OR

Teachers with 1 year (1550 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school or kindergarten, or licensed daycare center and 30 hours (or 45 quarter hours) of credits from an accredited college or university with 6 semester hours (or 9 quarter hours) related to school-age child care, child development, from birth to age 6, will also be considered.
