On school days students can be picked-up after school at McCutcheon, St. Thomas and Goudy schools at parent’s request.
All teachers hold at least a B.A. degree which includes courses in pedagogy and are certified by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
Children receive a dietician-approved snack and are provided an opportunity to browse through our library, work on computers, or play educational games after homework is complete.
On full days, children take full advantage of the opportunity to explore museums, wilderness areas, lakefront parks, libraries, conservatories, and points of interest inside and out of the community. Children receive a full breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack, all dietician certified.
First, second and even third generation immigrant children have special growing pains that add to this already difficult period of growing up. South-East Asia Center teachers and professional support staff assist and support children through creation of a sensitive, caring, and understanding environment with individual attention, counselling, and individualized lesson planning.
In this same regard, South-East Asia Center provides parenting workshops which at least one parent is required to attend once a month. Workshops are generally held at the end of the day while children are cared for by their teachers.
Enroll your child early, as there is almost always a waiting list. There are also doctor’s visits and paperwork which must be completed before your child may begin classes. At this time you may also discuss the low fees which are set by and subsidized by the Illinois Department of Human Services. Fees are based upon your level of income.
To enroll your child contact the Ainslie office (773)989-7433.
