Illinois State Representative Theresa Mah distributed mooncakes and talked about the tradition of the Mid-Autumn Festival while attending the luncheon celebration for seniors at South-East Asia Center in Chicago 2026.
Illinois State Representative Hoan Huynh who has served in the Illinois General Assembly 13th District since 2023, was on hand to assist in the distribution of mooncakes. He received special recognition from SEAC for his assistance in helping to secure a grant that allowed the center to install sound proof windows in classrooms adjacent to the CTA elevated tracks. This is a a needed upgrade that allows children to learn in a quieter and less stressful environment.
An anonymous donor provided bamboo cheese boards that were raffled off as door prizes to twenty lucky attendees.
